Branch General Meeting; Wed 4 Apr. 1pm Arts Lecture Theatre (updated)

Following the branch briefing and HEC meeting on Weds 28 March, the latest proposals relating to the USS dispute are being put to the membership in an electronic ballot. The General Secretary will announce details of the ballot this week.

The branch will have a General Meeting on Weds 4 April at 1pm in the Arts Lecture Theatre.

There will be feedback from the branch briefing, and a discussion of the dispute. Please do submit motions to ucu@st-andrews.ac.uk by 10am on Weds 4 April. Motions might, for example, take the form of resolutions either to reject or accept the proposals in the e-ballot, or make other resolutions relating to the dispute.

In the meantime, the next wave of industrial action has been announced, including five strike days at institutions still teaching, 16-20 April (Week 10). St Andrews is included in this action, and notice has been served to the employer. The committee and school/unit contacts will be in touch in the coming week to make arrangements for picketing and other strike-day activities.

Members may wish to write to their students alerting them to the possibility of further disruption due to strike action.
