The University and College Union at The University of St Andrews

Industrial action – ballot opens!

You will receive ballot information and papers from Electorial Reform Services.  If you have not received anything from them by Monday 30 September, please contact the local office (details below) and Susan will sort that out for you.

We realise that you may have unanswered questions about the pay negotiations and what might be involved in taking industrial action.  We will be holding 3 open meetings here at St Andrews, where members of the local committee will be on hand to update you on the ballot process, what the issues are, what sort of action we would ask members to take, what sort of timescale we envisage for action, and to answer any questions you might have.  Each meeting will follow a similar format and we hope that you will be able to attend one of the meetings – we have tried to spread them over different days and venues so that everyone has the opportunity to attend. The meetings are open to all so feel free to bring your non-union colleagues with you too as the issue of pay affects everyone, not just UCU members.

  1. 1.     FRIDAY 27 SEPTEMBER, 1PM – 145 PM – ARTS BUILDING LECTURE THEATRE
  2. 2.     MONDAY 30 SEPTEMBER, 1PM – 145 PM – PHYSICS BUILDING, LECTURE THEATRE C
  3. 3.     WEDNESDAY 2 OCTOBER, 1PM – 145 PM – OLD UNION DINER

We will be sending out some information about the pay negotiations and why we are asking you to vote YES/YES – look out for it in the internal mail!  In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to answer them.
